Thousands without power after storm
More than 5,000 Dominion Energy customers are without power in Suffolk as of 8:30 p.m., according to spokeswoman Bonita Billingsley Harris.
That’s 13 percent of all the utility’s Suffolk customers.
In Southeastern Virginia, more than 38,200 customers are out of power.
Severe thunderstorms blew through between 5 and 6 p.m. and left behind lots of damage.
City spokeswoman Diana Klink said there were a few downed trees and limbs in roadways, “but nothing major and no injuries.”
