Emmitt Blanchard Riddick

Emmitt Blanchard Riddick, 77, entered his heavenly home on July 4, 2019, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Suffolk, the son of the late Thomas Blanchard Riddick and Myrtle Stallings Riddick. He was predeceased by his daughter, Robin Riddick Blanchard, and his brother, Roger Franklin Riddick. Emmitt was a U.S. Army veteran. He later went on to own and operate E.B. Riddick & Son Lawn Service. He was a member of Nansemond River Baptist Church and the Disciples Small Group.
Emmitt is survived by his loving wife of 55 years; Polly S. Riddick; son and daughter-in-law, Andrew T. Riddick (Heidi); son-in-law, Randall O. Blanchard (Jennifer); grandchildren, Bailey and Peyton Riddick; sister and brother-in-law, Merle Kay Riddick Blanchard (Paul); nephew and niece, Lee Blanchard (Beth), Carrie Purser (Ben) and families.
A funeral will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, July 7, 2019, at Parr Funeral Home & Crematory with the Rev. Ryan Brice and the Rev. Gary Vaughan officiating. Burial with military honors will follow at Holly Lawn Cemetery. Friends may join the family for a time of visitation prior to the service from 1 to 2 p.m. at the funeral home and other times at the residence.
