The Isle of Wight County Sheriff’s Office is seeking potential victims who may have been filmed or photographed nude without their knowledge at a spa.

Deputies with the Isle of Wight County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant in the 1000 block of Rivers Arch in Carrollton on Friday morning, according to a press release from the sheriff’s office.

The search warrant was related to an ongoing investigation into child pornography, the release stated.

During the course of the investigation, deputies discovered a number of photos depicting nude women who appeared to be at a spa, possibly receiving spray tans.

One victim has been identified and told investigators she received a spray tan at a spa in Newport News after responding to a Groupon and that she was not aware she was being photographed or videoed, the release stated.

“The Isle of Wight County Sheriff’s Office would like to identify further possible victims,” the release stated. “The two spas where filming and videos were taken without the knowledge of the clients are ‘Knot So Zen’ on Pilot House Road in Newport News and ‘A Polished Life’ on Thimble Shoals.”

Knot So Zen posted a statement on its Facebook page Friday, stating it had rented use of its facilities to the owner of A Polished Life between December 2018 and June 2019.

“Knot So Zen is disgusted by the news of this incident and is fully cooperating with all law enforcement entities to aid in the investigation,” the statement said. “Our thoughts and prayers are with those impacted by this ordeal.”

The statement said the owner of A Polished Life is no longer affiliated with the studio.

“All clients are welcome to inspect changing areas, massage areas, and spray tan areas to ensure their comfort and confidentiality,” the statement said. “Our clients’ mental and physical safety is our utmost priority.”

The sheriff’s office is asking anyone who received a promotional flier or used a Groupon to receive a spray tan at an address in the 1000 block of Rivers Arch in Carrollton or either of the above two spas to contact investigators at 357-6126.
