New assistant principals were named at four Suffolk Public Schools during Thursday’s School Board meeting.

Taylor previously was a teacher at the former Robertson Elementary School in 2004-2005, a teacher at Mack Benn Jr. Elementary School from 2005 to 2014, a teacher at Nansemond Parkway Elementary in 2014-2015 and the assistant principal at Mack Benn Jr. Elementary for the 2015-2016 school year. She earned a bachelor’s degree from Norfolk State University, and her master’s from Regent University.

Corey Hamlin will become an assistant principal at John Yeates Middle School after being an assistant principal at Elephant’s Fork. Prior to that, Hamlin served as the supervisor of alternative education for Suffolk Public Schools and had previously taught as a special education teacher and an alternative education teacher at SECEP.

Myrick previously served as a business teacher at John F. Kennedy Middle School from 2011 to 2015, when she became an AVID coordinator before coming to Creekside as an assistant principal.
