“The Carrollton Ruritan Club wanted to give the community a day to come together and share their stuff and enjoy some fellowship,” said Jan Clark, a member of the Carrollton Ruritan Club.

Not everyone has the opportunity or the means for a yard sale to get rid of unwanted belongings, so the community day will provide space to do just that. Space will also be available to vendors to sell their products. Some will include Thirty-One, Paparazzi jewelry, Avon and Pampered Chef.

It would not be a proper community get-together without great food. There will be hot dogs, popcorn and snow cones to eat while browsing the different sellers. Jessie Lou’s Mobile Food and Catering Truck will also be serving up delicious food, including her famous grilled cheeses.

The Isle of Wight Humane Society plans to be present as well. There will be animals ready for adoption and positive interaction. This will be weather permitting, to keep the safety of the pets first. Record high temperatures are not friendly to the furry friends.

This fundraiser will help the Carrollton Ruritan Club continue to assist its community. The Ruritan Club holds many service projects, including scholarships, sponsoring families during Christmas and back to school, and Meals on Wheels.

The community day will be from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Aug. 3, at the Carrollton Ruritan Clubhouse, 14138 Norsworthy Drive. In case of rain, the date will change to Aug. 10.
