Hardy “Bill” Wilson Holliday, 98, of Virginia Beach, died Friday, Aug. 2, 2019, at his resident facility. Born on March 3, 1921, in Newport News, he was the son of the late Leamon and Eliza Holliday. He was married to the late Elizabeth “Betty” Holliday.

Mr. Holliday was an avid water ski enthusiast, responsible for the formation of the Virginia Water Ski Team. He managed a successful interior decorating business, Holliday Interiors, in Suffolk, with his wife, Betty Holliday.

Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, Barry and Kathryn Holliday, of Fredericksburg, Ben and Lauree Holliday, of Raleigh, N.C., Bryan and Karen Holliday, of Richmond, Brett and Catherine Holliday, of Houston; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. An additional survivor includes his dear partner of many years, Juanita Zirkle.

A family graveside service was conducted at Wesley Chapel Methodist Church on Monday by the Rev. Devon Blair, with funeral arrangements by R.W. Baker and Co. Funeral Home and Crematory, Suffolk. Condolences may be registered at RWBakerFH.com.
