Commencement celebrated

Kingdom Life Ministries celebrated its fourth annual commencement exercise on June 22 at New Paul’s Temple Holiness Church of Deliverance, where the host pastor was Dr. Catherine B. Skinner.

The procession was led by a dedicated faculty and staff, with Elder Randy Townsend, leading marshal; Overseer Dr. Joyce Myrick Wooden, founder and chancellor; Apostle Robert J. Branch, trustee and instructor, along with the addressee Dr. Jasper Saunders Sr., president of William P. Wiggins Bible Institute, and other distinguished colleagues, the graduating class of 2019 and student body marched to the sound of “Pomp and Circumstance” played by Joan Wiggins.

This year, 24 candidates received their awards, which included eight diplomas of Biblical Studies: Evangelist Dorothy Armstrong, Lady Luretta Claude, Elder Dwight Cross, Deacon Billie Evans, Deaconess Jacqueline Evans, Lady Elder Sandra P. Mann, Lady Loretta Parker and Elder Cynthia Riddick; four Associate of Biblical Studies degrees: Betty Goodman, Sister Carolyn C. Hall, Minister Angela Minggia and Minister Cassandra Williams; four bachelor’s degree in ministry: Missionary Evelyn Hunter (valedictorian), Elder Randy Townsend (salutatorian), Elder Gary Arline (summa cum laude), and Deaconess Ethel Savage (magna cum laude); five Master of Theology degrees: Elder Gary Arline (dual graduate), Co-Pastor Yolande B. Branch, Evangelist Cynthia Little-Hicks and Elder Randy Townsend (dual graduate).

This year’s recipients for doctorate degrees were Elder Patrica A. Goodman, Elder Mildred Green, Deacon Edith B. Sykes, Apostle Tonya Lenee Spruill and Pastor Denise C. Wiggins.

The Rev. Linza Weaver was the mistress of ceremonies, and music was provided by Joan Wiggins of New Mt Joy Food For Living, along with Apostles Connie D. and Raymond J. Wiggins II.

The commencement message came from Dr. Jasper Saunders Sr. His theme was “Now You Know the Rest of the Story,” taken from Acts 8:26-36.

Special recognition awards were given to students including academic excellence and perfect attendance awards.

Special thanks were given to Co-Pastor Yolande Branch, a student who also served as an instructor for the 2018-2019 school year.
