Corinth Chapel United Church of Christ Pastor, the Rev. Dr. Linwood Morings Boone, held a book signing at the 103rd session of the Roanoke Missionary Baptist Association Baptist Training Union and Sunday School Congress in July.  The Roanoke Missionary Baptist Association Baptist Training Union and the Sunday school Congress convened in its 103rd session at the Providence Missionary Baptist Association, Edenton, N.C., on July 16-18, with Bryant and Simpson presiding. A special feature of this session was the book signing by Boone, the organization’s history. The book is titled, “The Chronological History of Negro Education in Gates County, North Carolina and its 1-2-3 Rooms Schoolhouses.” The book traced the beginning of education for black students in Gates County from 1887 forward. The book included the names, pictures and biographies of some of the early teachers.
