The Nansemond River High School golf team fell short of a victory against Hickory High School.

The Warriors fell to Hickory 364-312 Tuesday afternoon at Elizabeth Manor Golf Course. Connor Walters of Hickory was the medalist.

Nansemond River so far splits the week at 1-1 after picking up a win against Indian River High School Monday afternoon. Hickory is among the top teams in the area and the district.

Nansemond River will get a chance to take back the city championship against King’s Fork High School Thursday at Sleepy Hole Golf Course. The Bulldogs are the reigning champions, and Nansemond River has already picked up a win against the other rival in Suffolk, Lakeland High School.
