Clifford Albert Smith Jr. passed away on Saturday, Sept. 14, 2019. He was the son of the late Clifford A. Smith Sr. and Catherine Smith.

Clifford was a former maintenance worker for the city of Suffolk and was a very good conversationalist and an excellent joke teller. He enjoyed watching NASCAR in his spare time.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Patricia Smith; his children, Glenn Smith, of St. Augustine, Fla., Daryl Smith (Terry), of Carrollton, and Brande Curè (Cory), of Lucedale, Miss.; his loving grandchildren, Jocelyn, Timothy, Kaitlin, Kyrah, Kalyssa and Isaac; two great-grandchildren, Brella and Sophia; along with his sisters, Catherine Iorio, of Baton Rouge, La., and Margaret Sweetal, of Pittsburg, Pa.

A visitation will be held from 3 to 5 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 18, 2019, at R.W. Baker & Co. Funeral Home and Crematory, 509 W. Washington St. Suffolk, VA 23434. Military honors will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 19, 2019, at Albert G. Horton Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery. Condolences may be posted at www.rwbakerfh.com.
