The Lakeland High School football team took a 76-0 loss on Friday night to Oscar Smith High School.
It was a long night for the Cavs last Friday as they traveled to take on one of the best programs in the area. It was all Oscar Smith from start to finish as the loss sent the Cavs to 0-2 on the season.
At halftime, Oscar Smith held a 55-0 lead. It was the first time Lakeland Coach Joe Jones had returned to where he had spent a decade coaching.
Lakeland will get a chance to bounce back against cross-town rival King’s Fork High School in what should be an exciting matchup for the city of Suffolk.
