Charles Edward Deloatch, 75, of Mahlon Avenue, Suffolk, transitioned Saturday, Sept. 14, 2019, at Sentara Obici Hospital. He was the son of the late Mrs. Essie M. DeLoatch and Mr. David W. DeLoatch Sr. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Brenda J. DeLoatch, David W. DeLoatch, Johnny L. DeLoatch and Sandra J. DeLoatch.

He was a graduate of East Suffolk High School, and in 1995 he retired from Norfolk Naval Shipyard after 25 years of faithful and dedicated service.

He leaves to cherish his memory his brother, Earl H. DeLoatch; nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A celebration of life will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Sept. 20, 2019, at Metropolitan Baptist Church. Dr. Robert Hobbs will deliver the message of comfort. He will be laid to rest in Albert G. Horton Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery. The family will receive guest at 1204 Blythewood Lane, Suffolk. Professional services with dignity have been entrusted to Crocker Funeral Home Inc.
