The King’s Fork High School field hockey team got its second win of the season Monday evening on the road against Wilson High School.

The Lady Bulldogs have won both games they have played against Wilson High School. Both games resulted in a shutout, with the most recent one being the 3-0 win Monday at home.

“I think the girls played great,” Coach Kayla Jones said. “Every game we learn a lesson, whether it’s a win or a loss. We try to find every weakness we find in games and continue to work on them. The little things make us stronger as a team.”

Even though King’s Fork has only two wins on the year thus far, Jones believes after each game her team has moved in a positive direction. Playing in a tough Southeastern District filled with talented teams is a battle each game, but the Lady Bulldogs feel like those games are helping them get better.

“I think we have a lot of tough teams in this district,” Jones said. “Getting the best teams first is showing us how hard we need to work so that we can compete with the top dogs. My girls are definitely hungry to continue to work harder and continue to do the best we can to compete. These young ladies have shown they want to continue to be better, and we feel like we are moving in the right direction.”

King’s Fork will get ready to take on Grassfield High School Wednesday afternoon. They will look to get their third win of the season against another tough district opponent.
