The King’s Fork High School field hockey team earned its second win over Southampton High School at home Monday afternoon.
In two combined games, King’s Fork has defeated Southampton High School 10-0. It was another strong win for the Lady Bulldogs, who got their fourth win of the year. Brielle Little led the way for the Lady Bulldogs with two goals. She also had two assists.
Coach Kayla Jones believed her team played very well.
“They played hard out there,” Jones said. “I’m very happy with how far my team has come and how we are progressing and still progressing. I know these girls are capable of so many big things. I’m very proud of these ladies, and I’m looking forward to what we can do moving forward.”
Due to some injuries, the Lady Bulldogs have had to switch up their lineup a bit. Jones was impressed with her team’s ability to win even after moving players around. In her first year coaching, Jones inherited a young Lady Bulldogs team that graduated seven seniors last year. She believes with more time, both she and the Lady Bulldogs can do things to keep improving.
“They have definitely bought into the environment I’m trying to create here at King’s Fork,” Jones said. “We want to be a winning program, and we want to beat people in our district, and we want to make the school proud. These girls have so much passion for the game, and I admire how they come to work looking to get better.”
