Vegan trend doesn’t make sense

To the editor:
The recent trend in advocating vegan diets while also condemning eating meat has always seemed very odd.
Some people have been seen arguing that veganism is naturally healthier than the normal diet when it is not entirely true.

When one tries to go on a vegan diet, they are ridding themselves of a major source of protein: meat and other animal products. Without protein, all of the muscles in the human body will actually start wasting away as the body starts to burn protein as an energy source. This also causes cramping, soreness, and weakness in the muscles. It is why a very large number of vegans tend to lack muscle mass.
