The Warriors boys’ volleyball team got its second win of the year over Lakeland High School in a rival matchup Tuesday night.

The Nansemond River High School boys’ volleyball team took a 3-0 win over rival Lakeland. In two games combined, the Warriors defeated Lakeland 6-1. With the win for Nansemond River, they go to 2-1 on the season against Suffolk rivals.

“They got the job done,” Coach Melissa Hodges said. “They came together as a team and won in three sets. It gives us great momentum heading into the next game.”

At 7-10, the Warriors believe they still have room for improvement with the playoffs right around the corner.

“We are going to just continue to work hard,” Hodges said. “We still have a lot of room for improvement, but we are headed in the right direction.”
