The Nansemond River High School field hockey team shut out Western Branch High School 2-0 Wednesday evening.

The Lady Warriors got a strong win at home on senior night. Senior Nyah McNeal scored a goal for the Lady Warriors against a strong Lady Bruins team that had momentum coming into the game.

Coming into the game, Western Branch had a 12-3 record, so Wednesday evening made for a quality win for Nansemond River that was already having a strong season and just added a bit more momentum heading into the regional playoffs.
