The Warriors and Bulldogs boys’ volleyball teams matched up Tuesday evening for the second time this season.
After losing the first meeting, the Nansemond River High School boys’ volleyball team was able to even the series Tuesday night. Nansemond River took a loss in four sets in the first game but won in similar fashion in the second meeting.
Coach Melissa Hodges liked the way her team was able to compete and was able to make up for the loss.
“The guys were way more consistent and focused,” Hodges said. “They were dialed in on what we needed to do to win. The guys played smart and aggressive. It was a great win for us heading into our next matchup.”
For King’s Fork, the loss puts them at 8-10 on the year. Nansemond River goes to 9-10 on the year, and it is the third consecutive game they have won. They finished all four matchups against Suffolk foes with a 3-1 record.
King’s Fork will face its other rival, Lakeland High School, with a chance to finish 3-1 against rivals as well.
