Three people were injured in a crash between a passenger vehicle and a backhoe on Sunday evening.

The crash was reported at 7:08 p.m. in the 2200 block of Bridge Road, according to a city press release.

Three patients were transported to area hospitals. One passenger from the vehicle could have possible life-threatening injuries, the press release stated. Another person from the vehicle and one from the backhoe are reported to have injuries not considered life-threatening.

The roadway was completely shut down for about 30 minutes, the press release stated. One lane remains closed as the investigation continues.
