The Lakeland High School field hockey team earned a 2-0 first round regional win over Hopewell.

The Lady Cavs defeated Hopewell High School for the second time this season. After defeating them 3-0 in the first meeting, Lakeland earned a 2-0 win in the second meeting.

Michela Brown-Mayfield and Carson Lewis both scored on the afternoon for the Lady Cavs.

Lakeland will match up next with Poquoson High School. Last year, they took a loss and will try to write a different story this time. A couple of players return from last year’s team that lost to Poquoson, so they are familiar with Poquoson’s style.
