NSA tennis advances to state semis

The Nansemond-Suffolk Academy girls’ tennis team advanced to the state semifinals after a win over.

The fourth-seeded Lady Saints matched up with the fifth-seeded Fredericksburg Academy Wednesday afternoon for a state quarterfinals matchup. The Lady Saints earned a 6-3 win at home, advancing them to the state semifinals.

Anne Perry Harrell, Kayla Kosiorek, Maren Council and Molly Leavy all had impressive wins in single play. The doubles team of Council and Kosiorek clinched the team win with a 10-0 win.

NSA will face No. 1 seed Steward School in the state semifinals at 12:30 p.m. Friday at the Raintree Swim and Racquet Club. The Lady Saints took a 1-8 loss to Steward School back in September. This time, they will look to change the outcome on the next meeting.
