A woman struck by gunfire in a Wednesday night shooting remains hospitalized in stable condition, according to a city press release.

The woman has been identified as Vanito Hoggard Goodman, 72. She was inside her home in the 600 block of County Street when shots came from outside at about 9:47 p.m., the press release stated, leaving her with serious injuries.

A separate shooting in the 300 block of Hunter Street, a block and a half away, happened about the same time. No injuries were reported in that shooting, which also struck a residence.
