Gary Lee Blevins, 70, passed away Dec. 11, 2019. He was born in Marion to the late Telsie “Bill” Reeves Blevins and Carolyn Wilma McClure Blevins. Gary was a U.S. Navy veteran, having served more than 20 years and retired as a senior chief parachute rigger. He received the Navy Marine Corps Medal and served in the Vietnam War. Gary is predeceased by his sister, Sandy Blevins.

Gary is survived by his wife of 19 years, Lynn Blevins; sons, Gary Reeves Blevins (Jamie) and Andrew David Blevins; grandchild, Brennan Blevins; sister, Jeanne Blevins Nichols (David); brothers, David Blevins Sr. (Lori), Larry Blevins (Cindy) and Richard Blevins (Sylvia); and numerous nieces and nephews.

A funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 18, 2019, at Parr Funeral Home and Crematory, 3515 Robs Drive, Suffolk, VA 23434 with the Rev. Richard “Dick” Blevins officiating. Burial will follow at Albert G. Horton Jr. Memorial Veterans Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 7 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
