Get a snappy Suffolk calendar

Last-minute Christmas shoppers rejoice: All you have to do is get yourself down to City Hall Friday with cash in hand and you can pick up as many Christmas gifts as you need.
Just in time for 2020, the first Suffolk wall calendar produced by the city, Suffolk Tourism, Suffolk Art League and Keep Suffolk Beautiful is available for $5 each from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday. If you miss it, it will also be available while supplies last at the Visitor Center, 524 N. Main St., and the Suffolk Art Gallery, 118 Bosley Ave., throughout the season (subject to holiday closures, of course).
This is the perfect gift for someone who loves Suffolk, loves beautiful photography, loves history and culture or simply loves to keep track of their days, weeks and months in style. It sure beats the lifeless app on your phone.
All of the featured images came from a photography contest, and the shutterbugs who are featured in the calendar won a cash prize for their snappy pictures.
The following photographers have their photographs included in the calendar: Terricka Rodrigues, Daniel McDonald, Phillip Long, Natalie Kent, Jessica Jackman, Brian Parker, David Snelgrove, Michelle Westervelt, Nikki Bass, Renatta Ramsawh, Kristen Chaney, Howard Nicholson Jr., Mary Saunders, Kay Hurley, Steve Gellas, and Jennifer Ginn.
“This calendar captures each photographers’ love of Suffolk through their unique perspective and showcases our city in its purest form,” Tourism Development Manager Theresa Earles stated. “We are so thankful for all of the outstanding photo submissions. We expect the 2020 Suffolk Calendar will be a perfect holiday gift and encourage the community to add it to their shopping list.”
