UPDATE: Suffolk Police say all lanes have reopened.

Earlier: Two people were airlifted to a hospital with critical injuries after a crash on Route 58 westbound at the Southwest Suffolk Bypass on Friday afternoon.

The accident with a tractor-trailer and a passenger vehicle happened at 2:20 p.m. Both occupants of the passenger vehicle were airlifted, one via Nightingale and one via Life Evac, according to a city press release. The tractor-trailer driver was not injured.

Traffic will be affected for about an hour while the crash is investigated.
