Crash causes damage

A single-vehicle accident on Saturday morning caused power outages and property damage on West Constance Road.
The incident started at 10:30 a.m. when an officer attempted a traffic stop on westbound Route 58 near the weigh scales, according to a city press release.
The driver did not stop, but police did not engage in a pursuit with the vehicle, the press release stated.
The vehicle was later involved in a single-vehicle crash on West Constance Road. No injuries were reported, but power was knocked out in the area due to the crash. The crash also caused property damage at the Suffolk Elks Lodge, including the decorative fencing around the elk statue.
The accident remains under investigation. No additional information is available for release.
