Warriors split wins with Bruins

The Nansemond River High School swim teams split wins with Western Branch High School on Saturday.

The Nansemond River swim teams took on Western Branch in another Southeastern District matchup. The girls’ team got a win, while the boys’ team took a loss.

The girls took a 98-71 win as Selby Heyman, Rana Ceribasi and Ashlyn Swaim each had two wins in individual events. Nansemond River also had two wins in relay events, the 400 free and the 200 medley. Heyman, Swaim, Olivia Browning and Ava Hamby were winners in the 200 medley. Ceribasi, Swaim, Heyman and Cynthia Moss were the winners in the 400 free relay. The Lady Warriors are 3-1 on the season.

The boys’ team took a 102-68 loss, with Andrew Betts winning the 100 fly and the 200 free. With the loss, the Warriors fall to 2-2 on the season.
