Suffolk Police are investigating a shooting that happened early Wednesday morning.

The shooting was reported at 12:52 a.m. in the area of Hall Avenue, according to a city press release.

The victim, Rayshard Lamar Jones, 27, of Suffolk, was taken by ground ambulance to a hospital for treatment of injuries not considered life-threatening, according to the press release. He was hospitalized in stable condition.

The investigation is in the preliminary stages, and no additional information is available.
