The Lady Cavs defeated the Lady Warriors for the second time this season earlier this week.

The Lakeland High School girls’ basketball team went to 2-0 against its cross-town rival Nansemond River High School. In a 60-23 win, Lakeland was able to defeat Nansemond River both times by at least 25 points.

The win for Lakeland marks their third win in a row as they go to 12-5 on the season. Nyeisha Savage had 12 points to go along with eight rebounds, and Jamauri Demiel finished with 10 points. Jaelyn Brown had eight, and Deonna Lassiter had eight.

Through a tough season, Nansemond River is now 3-15 on the season.
