A note communicating a bomb threat closed the VDOT offices in North Suffolk for the rest of the day on Wednesday afternoon, according to a city press release.

The bomb threat by note at the building in the 7500 block of Burbage Drive was reported at 3:22 p.m. after the note was found, the press release stated. VDOT officials made the decision to evacuate the premises and close their offices for the remainder of the day.

Suffolk Police and Suffolk Fire & Rescue responded. The Fire Marshal’s Office is conducting an investigation, which remains ongoing.
