Lady Bulldogs top Lady Warriors

For the second time this season, the King’s Fork High School girls’ basketball team has defeated Nansemond River High School.

The King’s Fork Lady Bulldogs go to 14-6 on the season after a 54-18 win over Nansemond River. With the win, the Lady Bulldogs were able to get the season sweep and have also come one step closer to again earning the city title.

Both Niyah Gaston and Ashawnti Williams had big games, both with double-doubles for the Lady Bulldogs. Williams had 14 points to go with 15 rebounds, while Gaston had 16 points to go with 10 rebounds. Quadara Coles had nine points.

King’s Fork can secure the city title for this season on Friday when they host Lakeland High School. They are 3-0 against their Suffolk foes to this point.
