David George Jordan Sr., 83, departed this earthly life on Monday, Feb. 10, 2020. He was a native of the Elephant’s Fork district of Suffolk, born on April 21, 1936, to the late Tipney Jordan and Amy Jordan. David was a lifelong member of Healing Chapel Baptist Church.
At a young age, he met and married the love of his life, Ruby Louise Brown. Out of David and Ruby’s 60-plus years of marriage came the joys of their lives, their beloved children, Gwendolyn Diana, David George Jr. (Felicia) and Ronald Keith (Cheryl). In addition to his children, David leaves to celebrate his life and legacy, his brother, Joseph Jordan (Peggy), his sister, Sylvia Battle, his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, family, friends and several others he adopted into his family and treated as if they were his own. David George Jordan Sr. was loved by many and will be remembered by all whose lives he graced.
A visitation will take place from noon to 5 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home. A funeral will take place at 1 p.m. Monday, Feb. 17, 2020, at Healing Chapel Baptist Church, and he will be laid to rest at Carver Memorial Cemetery.
