Bus driver taken to hospital after crash

A Suffolk Public Schools bus driver was taken to the hospital after a crash involving the bus on Monday afternoon.
The accident in the 2800 block of Godwin Boulevard was reported at 4:13 p.m., according to a city press release. The fully-loaded bus was transporting students from Hillpoint Elementary School when it was rear-ended by the passenger vehicle, the press release states. No students were injured, but the bus driver was evaluated at the scene by Suffolk Fire & Rescue personnel and taken to a hospital for further medical observation.
The driver of the passenger vehicle was issued a summons for following too closely.
Another bus driver responded and continue the transport of students in the bus after the investigation was completed.
