A two-vehicle accident in Isle of Wight County on Tuesday resulted in the death of a 95-year-old man.

Rufus Murry Wilson, of the 100 block of Baptist Road, Wakefield, died in the crash on Route 460 in the town of Windsor, according to a news release from Virginia State Police Sgt. Michelle Anaya.

The crash happened about 2:11 p.m. A 2017 International tractor-trailer was blocking the roadway while attempting to back up into a residential driveway on Route 460 when Wilson, driving a 2002 Chevrolet Silverado, was traveling eastbound on Route 460 and struck the tractor-trailer on its side, Anaya stated. He died at the scene.

The case is under review by the Isle of Wight Commonwealth’s Attorney, and no charges are being placed at this time.
