Virginia cases of COVID-19 up to 254

At least 254 people across Virginia have officially been diagnosed with COVID-19, according to new numbers released by the Virginia Department of Health on Monday.

That is a 16-percent increase from Sunday’s reported number of 219. The number has more than doubled since Friday.

About 3,697 people have been tested for the virus in Virginia. There have been 38 people hospitalized and six deaths associated with the virus.

Cases in the Western Tidewater Health District hold steady at two — one in Suffolk and one in Isle of Wight County. The district also encompasses Southampton County and Franklin.
