Bettie C. Mayfield

Bettie C. Mayfield, 71, gained her heavenly wings on Thursday, April 2, 2020.

Bettie was a faithful, lifelong member of Canaan Baptist Church until her health failed. She was preceded in death by her parents, Oscar and Hilda Chatman; her daughter, Nicole Chatman; and her sister, Gloria Eason.

Bettie’s outgoing, loving spirit will be truly missed by her siblings, Barbara Thomas and Lacey Chatman; an aunt; Estella Powell; her children, Norman Chatman, Franklin Chatman (Sonya), Terry Jefferson (Shawn) and Katrina Davis (Preston); grandchildren, Kayla White, Deonte Green, Demitrius White, Johniqua Porter, Franklin Chatman II, Tyler Chatman and JaMarah Davis; six great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends; two very special friends, Kristine Edwards and Curetta Williams.

The family will gather at the gravesite, and we will celebrate Bettie’s life at a later date.
