Mae Elaine Boone, of Carrsville, entered eternal rest on April 21, 2020, while a patient in Sentara Obici Hospital. She was born April 22, 1935, to the late Shirley and Amie Grant. She was preceded in death by her husband, James E. Boone.

Elaine was survived by two brothers, Shirley Grant Jr. and Phillip Grant (Kathleen); one sister, Easter Johnson; a host of nieces, including Lynette Grant and Karen Grant-Scott, who were her devoted caregivers; and a host of nephews and cousins.

Because of the current restrictions, the family was unable to be with Elaine in her final days. The family would like to thank the doctors, nursing staff and chaplain of Sentara Obici Hospital for the compassion and acts of caring shown during her transition. The family would like to also thank the staff and administration of Accordius Nansemond Pointe, who provided her care the last few years of her life.

The service for Mrs. Boone will be private; however, a family and public viewing will be held at the funeral home on Saturday, April 25, 2020, during the following times: family viewing at 11 a.m. and public viewing from noon to 6 p.m. A service with dignity will be conducted by Wm.
