Dwight N. Baker, of Suffolk, our beloved father, brother, grandfather, uncle and friend, departed this life on May 5, 2020, at Sentara Obici Hospital. He was born June 6, 1950, in Nansemond County.

Dwight attended John F. Kennedy High School. He retired from Suffolk Parking Company and Goodyear Tires.

He was preceded in death by his father, James G. Baker Sr.; mother, Laura Bell Copeland; sons, Dwight N. Baker Jr., and Christopher Baker; brother, Connie Lee Baker; and sister, Mildred Copeland. Dwight is survived by three daughters, Laquisa Baker (Melvin), Adela Williams and Christa Mizell (Donta); two sons, William Boone (Lasandra) and Dorian Riddick; two devoted brothers, James G. Baker Jr., and David C. Baker III (Jennifer), all of Suffolk; 18 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

A viewing will be held from 1 to 7 p.m. Monday, May 11, 2020, at Crocker Funeral Home. He will be laid to rest at 2 p.m. Tuesday, May 12, 2020, in Holly Lawn Cemetery. Professional services with dignity have been entrusted to Crocker Funeral Home Inc.
