Warren named to Dean’s List

Iman Warren, of Suffolk, was named to the Spring 2020 Dean’s List at Georgia State University.

To be eligible for the Dean’s List, degree-seeking students must have earned a GPA of at least 3.5 for a minimum of nine semester hours of academic credit taken at Georgia State during the fall or spring term with no incompletes for the semester. Eligible students must have a minimum GPA of 2.0 for all classes taken at Georgia State.

 

Horton makes Dean’s List

Ryan Horton, of Suffolk, qualified for the Spring 2020 Dean’s List at Belmont University. Eligibility is based on a minimum course load of 12 hours and a quality grade point average of 3.5 with no grade below a C.

 

Davis graduates

Lauren Davis, of Suffolk, was among the graduates recognized during University of the Sciences’ 199th Commencement celebration, a virtual ceremony, held on Wednesday, May 20, 2020.

Davis graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in biomedical sciences and a minor in psychology. Davis was a member of the softball team.

 

Holmes receives degree from Georgia Tech

Benjamin Holmes, of Suffolk, has earned a Bachelor of Science in computer science from the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta.

Holmes was among approximately 4,050 undergraduate and graduate students who earned degrees during the Spring 2020 semester. Students were celebrated during a virtual celebration held on May 1. They will also be honored during in-person commencement ceremonies to be held on campus later this year.

 

Payne makes Dean’s List

Pheldarius A. Payne, of Suffolk, was named to the Dean’s List for the Spring 2020 semester at Lackawanna College.

Nearly 380 Lackawanna College students were named to the Dean’s List for the semester. A student qualifies for the Dean’s List if they achieve a grade point average of 3.2 with a minimum of nine credit hours to qualify.

 

Bridgewater celebrates graduates

The following local students earned degrees from Bridgewater College this year:

• Christopher A. DeFreeuw, of Suffolk, Bachelor of Arts in music, graduated summa cum laude, from Suffolk;
• Emilia M. Tumminello, of Suffolk, Bachelor of Science in biology, graduated summa cum laude and as a member of the college’s Flory Honors Program;
• Alexandra K. Rose, of Smithfield, Bachelor of Arts in business administration, graduated cum laude.

Bridgewater College’s 419 graduates and their families celebrated during the college’s first virtual graduation ceremony on Saturday, May 2.
