Rachquel Johnson, the founder of Another Chance Life Coaching Center in Suffolk, has published a new book on steps to healing.

Johnson is a lifelong Suffolk native who graduated from Lakeland High School. Growing up, Johnson’s mother was a foster parent, and Johnson saw social workers regularly come to their house for routine meetings. Seeing the social workers help her brothers sparked her interest in the work.

After 20 years of social work, Johnson decided to become a life coach. She founded Another Chance Life Coaching in 2016.

“I chose to be a life coach to teach, educate and help others on their path and in their career,” said Johnson.

Earlier this month, she released her first self-published book, “The Healer Living Within.” The book is about healing from past trauma and how to move forward in life. As an ordained elder, she encourages readers to do so through the Holy Spirit’s power and not just their own.

“This book is about healing,” said Johnson. “This book is a step by step guide for healing and not letting past hurt hinder you from having a productive life.”

According to Johnson, many people suffer from trauma, neglect and rejection in their childhood or early life that holds them back from doing what they want in life. She wants to help others change that and give them the help they need to move forward.

“Healing is my specialty,” said Johnson. “My desire is that people will get instructions to heal and begin the process of pursuing their destiny.”

Johnson already has her second book in the works. It will cover the topic of fatherless daughters and is planned for release in June 2021.

“It is so exciting to have a book published,” said Johnson. “I worked on this book for two years, and it has always been a goal of mine to do this. I hope readers can learn a lot from this book and get the healing they need.”
