Fire station work ongoing
Work on Suffolk Fire & Rescue Station 4 is ongoing, and the fire station remains closed.
The station closed on June 3 for work on the engine bay doors, according to a city press release. It was estimated to take three weeks, which were up Wednesday.
However, the city announced Wednesday the station remains closed until further notice.
Staff and equipment remain temporarily assigned to Station 6 on Kings Fork Road. Signage on the doors at Station 4 reminds the public to call 911 in case of emergency, and to call 514-4550 for non-emergencies.
