Suffolk Police and Suffolk Fire & Rescue are on the scene of a multi-vehicle crash at Route 58 westbound just west of the weigh station.

The crash was reported around 9:14 p.m. Two passenger vehicles, an SUV and police vehicle were involved, according to a city press release.

The officer was not inside the vehicle at the time and was not injured.

An adult male was taken by ground ambulance to a hospital with injuries not considered life-threatening.

Route 58 was completely closed immediately following the crash; however, two lanes have since reopened. The investigation into the cause of the accident remains ongoing.
