Man injured in shooting

One man was taken to the hospital with serious injuries after a shooting in the Huntersville area on Saturday evening, according to a city press release.
The shooting was reported at 11:52 p.m., the press release stated. Preliminary investigation found that the man had suffered a gunshot wound in the 6200 block of Freeman Avenue. He was transported by personal vehicle to a nearby hospital, from where he was taken to another hospital, with serious injuries.
