The city of Suffolk will provide extra bulk waste collections in the wake of Tropical Storm Isaias.

Bulk waste collected by the Department of Public Works through Aug. 19 will not count toward the maximum 12 collections per year. The bulk waste collection program allows residents to place one pile of up to 12 cubic yards curbside on any collection day. This includes large, bulky items and other items that are too large to fit into the container, including appliances, furniture, mattresses, yard waste, debris and boxes.

It is not necessary to contact Public Works to schedule these collections. Simply place the items curbside no later than 7 a.m. on the day of collection.
