Evwell Batten transitioned from this life on Tuesday, Sept. 8, 2020, at Sentara Obici Hospital. A graveside celebration will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 12, at Christian Home Baptist Church Cemetery. A viewing will take place on Friday, Sept. 11, from 4 to 6 p.m. at Shivers Funeral Chapel. Mr. Batten is in the care of Shivers Funeral Chapel.
