Police charge man in August shooting incident

Suffolk Police have arrested a Suffolk man in connection with a shooting incident that occurred in the area of the 500 block of South Main Street on the afternoon of Aug. 20.
Deandre Malik Wilson, 19, was arrested on Oct. 2, 2020, on charges including use of firearm in commission of felony (2 counts); discharge firearm or missile at a residence; discharge a weapon in or across a roadway; reckless handling of a firearm; attempt to commit a non-capital offense (2 counts). He is currently in custody at the Western Tidewater Regional Jail.
The investigation remains ongoing, and additional charges are pending, the press release stated.
The shooting incident was reported about 3:20 p.m. that day. Upon preliminary investigation, it was determined that the windshield of a vehicle had been damaged by gunfire as well as a residence in the 100 block of Kilby Avenue. There were no injuries.
