With so many choices, deciding where to eat can be difficult. Whether stuck in a rut or seeing what is open, there is a website that can help.
Suffolk Tourism has launched a new website that highlights eateries throughout Suffolk. Now, Suffolk residents or visitors can visit DiningInSuffolkVa.com to get the full picture of where to eat.
“We’ve long felt that our current website, VisitSuffolkVa.com, while a comprehensive site that covers all that Suffolk has to offer, really didn’t showcase the immense dining opportunities that abound in Suffolk,” said Kathleen Kelley, tourism development specialist at Suffolk Tourism. “This new site allows us the ability to really flesh out those opportunities.”
Due to the pandemic, restaurants, mainly family-owned, are in need of support. Along with the descriptions, this website will have information on whether the location has dine-in, take-out or delivery. The unique eateries tab divides restaurants into categories to find local spots to support.
“With the pandemic affecting everyone, we felt this new tool would be a helpful way to highlight the great ways in which you can still dine safely with your family and help support our restaurant community,” said Kelley.
This website is separated into multiple sections to help hungry viewers find the perfect place to eat. Everything from local eateries, national chains and favorite fast-food restaurants are all represented for whatever the viewer is craving. Addresses, phone numbers and website links are organized with each location to give visitors quick access to what they need to know.
Once the exploring starts, all the restaurants may look tempting to try. Put the knowledge from the website to the test during Restaurant Week from Nov. 7-14. During this time, nine Suffolk restaurants will offer fixed-priced specials to let guests get a taste of local Suffolk.
“Some are even offering a family meal to-go option, so you can really get out there and see what Suffolk has to offer, dining-wise,” said Kelley. “It’s an excellent way to maybe try some of those restaurants that you have had on your want list, but at a reasonable price.”
The new website’s blog section will take special note of this week to keep readers informed on the business and special promotions offered to patrons during Suffolk Tourism’s most popular event of the year.
