An 11-month-old was returned home safely on Thursday after what was originally believed to be a child abduction, according to a city press release.

Suffolk Police investigated the incident, which was reported about 11:22 a.m. in the 7300 block of Harbour Towne Parkway on Thursday.

The 11-month old was reported to have been abducted by a Lyft driver, the press release stated. By 12:36 p.m., the child had been located and returned safely to the family.

A Friday update stated police had interviewed the Lyft driver and determined there was no criminal intent. No charges will be filed.
