Police charge 17-year-old with murder

Suffolk Police have arrested a 17-year-old and charged him with second-degree murder in the Dec. 5 shooting at the Suffolk Wawa.
Torico Reaves Jr., 18, of Virginia Beach, died in the shooting, according to a city press release. The shooting happened about 6 p.m. at the Wawa on Godwin Boulevard.
The 17-year-old suspect is also charged with use of a firearm in commission of a felony, the press release stated.
Due to his age, his name and booking photograph will not be released.
The investigation remains ongoing. Police have previously asked anyone who was at the Wawa but left before police arrived to contact Crime Line at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP.
