Suffolk Department of Public Utilities has advised customers that they will receive December and January utility bills on a modified schedule.
HRSD experienced a ransomware attack on Nov. 17. The investigation into the cause is still ongoing.
The resulting security enhancements and software updates will result in customers receiving December and January bills that are about 21 days apart instead of the more typical 30 days apart, according to a city of Suffolk press release.
Customers can contact the Suffolk Department of Public Utilities at 757-514-7000 with any questions.
